Heart to Heart with Albert & Heli Veksler: Asking Hard Questions & Making Israel's War Personal

"Why?" and "How did this happen?" Snatching their grandchildren from bed to run to a bomb shelter, a son called into the front line—the Vekslers are a family in a nation at war. Albert and Heli invite us to their home in Mevaseret to share their hearts and give us a glimpse into the souls of Israelis in this extraordinarily difficult time. Albert asks poignant questions and Heli exhorts us to "...go deeper into the personal part of what's going on here." To better pray for Israel, we are encouraged to continue listening to people's stories, reading about those who have fallen, and truly connect with the people in the Land. We invite you to partner in their ongoing quest and give to provide life-saving bulletproof vests to IDF soldiers, as they've been able to do for their son, his unit, and now, many more. Sri Lanka Supports 'Nakba', but Its People Stand with the Democratic State of Israel!

"As a country, we had war for thirty years. So we know the pain of war... we also had terror attacks by Islamic terror groups, so we simply stand with Israel." Shanuka Elangasekere shares with us about the Israel Sri Lanka Solidarity Movement, an unprecedented people's movement comprised of Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, and indigenous people who are standing in support of Israel! Since the beginning of Israel's war with Hamas, this movement has provided statements to the government, facilitated public gatherings, rallies, and prayer meetings. Shanuka generously shares her heart for the people and Land of Israel. Did You Know? Israel had mutually beneficial maritime and trade links with Sri Lanka even before the Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman Empires took control. When Israel was reestablished in 1948, Sri Lanka was the first Asian Country to recognize it as a nation and rebuild the relationship once again. In the years since, the governmental ties between Israel and Sri Lanka ceased due to political decisions taken by the various governments. It is the belief of ISSOM that the reestablishment of the 3700-year-old relationship between the two countries will no doubt help Sri Lanka to become a self-sufficient nation with advanced technology systems and beneficial methods followed according to the advice and training by the Israelis.
