Prayer Watches

“On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who make mention of the Name of the LORD take no rest for yourselves; And give Him no rest until He establishes & makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.” (Isaiah 62:6-7)

Awake Watchmen!

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the House of Israel…” (Ezekiel 3:17)

“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet until her righteousness goes forth like brightness and her salvation like a torch that is burning. (Isaiah 62:1)

The Vision

To awaken, equip, and mobilize Watchmen for the House of Israel. To encourage those who will diligently pray, cry out, and intercede for the return and restoration of the Jewish people to their land and their God, according to that which has been written. To establish regular Day and Night Watches any where in the world so that believers everywhere are alert, watching and praying for Israel.

Who are the Watchmen?

They are men, women, children, teenagers, the elderly, people of all ages and nationalities!  They are disciples of Jesus Christ the Messiah. They call on the Name of the Lord and remind Him of His word.

Have you heard the call?

We are in an hour when God is calling watchmen in the nations to be Watchmen for the House of Israel!  Many who have heard the call from God to intercede for Israel have been sleeping and need to be awakened so they may become diligent Watchmen for the House of Israel.

Day and Night

Did you know that the LORD’s covenant with the Jewish people is as enduring as the covenant He made with the day and night?

“If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed laws of heaven and earth, then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  For I will cause their captives to return, and will have mercy on them.” Jeremiah 33: 25 –26

Day and Night has been the LORD’s rhythm for all of creation. It has been decreed that as long as this pattern endures, so will His people, the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

It is time to enter into the LORD’s rhythm of Day and Night.  Will you respond to His call to “Awake, watch and pray”?

Watch and Pray

In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus invited His closest disciples to keep watch with Him. He earnestly desired the prayers and support of His friends at that crucial hour. Once again in our day, Jesus beckons true friends of the Bridegroom to watch and pray with Him as His Father unfolds the last chapter of history. Will we be counted with Him as Watchmen for the House of Israel?  (Psalm 121:4)

His desire is for us to join Him in day and night intercession until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. The challenge is for us to join Him now!

Heart Preparation Before a Watch:

  1. Go before the Lord and lay all your cares and burdens at His feet.
    (Matt. 11:28-30)

  2. Seek to have a humble and contrite heart.
    (Isa. 57:15)

  3. Come prepared with clean hands and a pure heart toward God and others.
    (Ps. 24:3-4; Mark 11:25)

  4. Remember that God will reward those who diligently seek Him!
    (Heb. 11:6; Mat 18:20; 1John 5:14)

General Guidelines for Group Watches

  1. Aim to start on time, with focused attention on watching and praying for Israel, the land, and the people, in unity.

  2. As the Spirit of God leads, be free to participate with corporate worship songs, exalting the One who has called us to watch and pray.

  3. Wait on the Lord and be sensitive to what’s on His heart to pray in this time of watching.

  4. Function as part of the team; be in harmony and insure that one topic has been prayed through before continuing to the next.

  5. Pray with fervency and faith, declaring the Scriptures, as led by the Spirit.

  6. Maintain the flow and keep the order, incorporating times of prayer and singing in the spirit, as well as silence.

  7. As space and equipment are available, encourage appropriate music, dance, flags and art, etc. as inspired, to complement and enhance the prophetic flow.

An encouragement...

Choose to walk in love and to place the corporate experience above personal freedom and preferences so that the purposes of the LORD may be fulfilled. (1 Corinthians 10:24)

Exercise the discipline of being teachable. The Lord is training us all to be Watchmen in His house of prayer, for Israel and all nations. (Isaiah 56:6-7)
