Return To Me Series by Marty Shoub
Marty Shoub begins a new series exploring the theme of 'return' in the Scriptures. The theme of 'return' repeats throughout the Bible, through the life of the Patriarchs, the nation of Israel, and ultimately all of humanity. The story of the Bible can be understood as the Heavenly Father’s plan to bring His banished children home; “to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.” (John 11:52)
Part 1 - Return To Me Introduction
Part 2 - Return and the Patriarchs
Marty Shoub examines the lives of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to illustrate how their personal return stories anticipate the return stories of Israel and humanity.
Part 3 - Joseph's Story
Marty Shoub continues looking at the theme of return in the lives of the Patriarchs. This session focuses on the life of Joseph.
Part 5 - Exodus, the first Aliyah (pt. 1)
Part 4 - The Exodus, God’s Guarantee to Abraham
In this installment on return, Marty Shoub explains that the exodus from Egypt was guaranteed by God’s covenant with Abraham. Hundreds of years before Israel was enslaved in Egypt, God promised Abraham that his descendants would return from their sojourn in a foreign land to inherit the land of Canaan. Genesis 15 recounts the remarkable demonstration that guaranteed the promise beyond all doubt.
Marty looks at the Exodus from the perspective of Aliyah. The God of Israel fulfills His covenant promise to Abraham to give his descendants the land of Canaan and elevates Israel from slaves to God’s special treasure above all others.
